The Doctations Manifesto for Providers
I. Corporate Philosophy
· Doctations aims to promote an open-market environment for healthcare services, encouraging fee-for-service in every way possible, including development of capabilities to enable payment at time of delivery.
· Doctations promotes the concept that a vital source of information for patients is healthcare experts working within their domain of knowledge and interest.
· In contrast to sites that provide patients with data about diseases, Doctations aims to provide patients with access to experts with the appropriate knowledge.
· Doctations endeavors to support pro-consumer healthcare initiatives, especially those that promote freedom of choice for patients (including insurance plans that provide reasonable out-of-network coverage, such as high-deductible insurance plans associated with health savings accounts). Further, Doctations endeavors, whenever possible, to provide patient subscribers with information facilitating their understanding of insurance plans.
· A substantial portion of all fees received from patient-subscribers (40% of total fees received) will be distributed to physicians and patients from whom data was derived in the form of credits for Doctations and iMedicalHome services. We will inform physicians of commercial access to their data by mail. Access to data by commercial entities requires the approval of both the physician author of the documentation or data (if appropriate) and/or the patient.
· Doctations does not intend for Providers (as defined in the Subscription Agreement) to be dependent on the Doctations System (as defined in the Subscription Agreement), but rather wants patient subscribers to view it as one tool, out of many, for achieving optimal practice management, communication with patients and colleagues, and access to medical information.
· Doctations will strive to guarantee providers loyalty to Doctations by providing the best possible support services available anywhere for any price.
· Doctations aims to provide services that can reduce providers overhead and streamline business management.
· Doctations furnishes Providers with tools that can help them provide better care at lower cost.
· Doctations endeavors to furnish Providers with tools that can improve patients? compliance with providers recommendations.
· Doctations will provide online tools that can facilitate receipt and accounting of payments received directly from the Provider?s patients.
· Whenever possible, Doctations will provide decision-support information during time of service using standards that allow back-tracking of providers recommendations to source.
· Doctations provides direct links to abstracts and papers related to a Provider?s specialty.
· Doctations will promote the use of clinical treatment guidelines by generating ICD-9-specific guideline information at time of service. This information will be produced in such a way as to facilitate and not hinder providers efforts to treat patients.
· It is Doctations.philosophy to respect and facilitate the doctor-patient relationship whenever possible, particularly by providing tools for improving communications between Providers and their patients.
